Dear [sir], I am writing to express my interest in the open position of Economics Teacher at your school. I am excited to apply for this position as I have a great deal of experience teaching economics at the high school level, along with a proven track record of student engagement and success. As an economics teacher, I strive to make my lessons engaging and accessible. My students learn how the economy works by engaging in activities such as role-playing buying and selling on eBay, creating their own businesses and applying for bank loans, and investing in stocks during an annual stock market simulation competition. I also work with other teachers to improve instruction throughout the school. For example, I created a program that teaches basic economics to freshmen during social studies class, so they are ready to take my AP microeconomics course as sophomores. This has resulted in higher rates of passing AP exams among sophomores than ever before.
