SHIVENDRA CHAUHAN

With a total of nine years of experience as a teacher, including five years as an IB/CAMBRIDGE Biology and Science teacher, I am confident that I have the skills and expertise to make a valuable contribution. Under my guidance, my students have consistently performed well in their academics and extracurricular activities. I take pride in my students’ success, and I am especially proud of their achievements at the IB, Cambridge Checkpoints, IGCSE and Indian Board exams. In India, my students presented a scientific research model on sustainable development at the National Children’s Science Congress, solving an environmental issue, and reflecting their passion for positively impacting the world. Additionally, my students developed a Hydroponics system in GMIS Jakarta under my guidance, which they are using to help underprivileged communities with cultivation. As a Personal Project mentor, I have always gone the extra mile to help my students achieve higher levels in their projects. My philosophy revolves around creating an encouraging and engaging learning environment, fostering critical and creative thinking skills and igniting the passion for learning in my students. I always encourage students for their active engagement and learning. The core of my Teaching approach is to ignite Curiosity and facilitate students to satisfy their curiosity and inquiry through various ATLs. As an educator, I believe that students have various learning styles and needs, I always alter my teaching approaches and styles to facilitate the personalised learning style of my learners. Differential teaching, remedial support, and consistent motivation are tools that helped me to support my students. Compassion and continuous support have helped me to ignite passion and love for Science in my students. I am pleased to say that many of my students have gone on to become successful professionals in various fields. Some are pursuing their PhDs at esteemed universities abroad, while others have become doctors, engineers, chefs, and more. I believe that teaching goes beyond the classroom and that it is my responsibility to help my students become open-minded, life-long learners, inquirers, critical and creative thinkers and well-rounded individuals capable of making a positive impact on the world.
