About
I am writing to formally express my sincere interest in the position of Vice Principal at your esteemed institution. With a deep respect for your school’s legacy and commitment to excellence, I would be honoured to contribute my skills and experience to further elevate the academic environment you so diligently cultivate.
I hold a B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. in English Literature from St. Paul’s Cathedral Mission College (C.U.), along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Media Management from CMI and IISWBM (C.U.). I also completed my B.Ed. from Seacom B.Ed. College and am currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Education, specializing in Educational Leadership and Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University. As part of my Master’s program, I am currently undertaking a dissertation that critically examines the complexities of management in educational institutions serving underprivileged communities. This research has not only afforded me the opportunity to collaborate extensively with international organizations such as The H.E.L.G.O. Child Labour Project, the Samaritan Help Mission, among others, but also equipped me with invaluable insights into addressing management challenges particularly in terms of organizational dynamics, capacity building, strategic decision-making and the socio-cultural dynamics that impact educational outcomes—knowledge that will be directly applicable in navigating the responsibilities of a Vice Principal.
Over the course of my career of 10+ years, I have had the privilege to serve in a myriad of academic settings, teaching English at prestigious institutions, including Samaritan Mission School, Maria’s Day School, Indian Public School, and St. Aloysius’ Orphanage & Day School, with curricula ranging from WBBSE and WBCHSE to CISCE and CBSE. Alongside my work in student mentorship, career counselling, I have taught IELTS preparation courses and more recently worked as an English Faculty member for the I.B. and I.S.C. curriculum at Sarala Birla Academy in Bangalore. Although unforeseen personal circumstances led me to relinquish the role and return to Kolkata, this opportunity reinforced my commitment to fostering academic excellence in dynamic and high-performing environments as well.
Beyond classroom instruction, my experience, both as Head of Department and Coordinator, has enabled me to hone my craft and cater to diverse learning needs, ensuring proficiency in managing faculty, overseeing academic initiatives, implementing educational technology, digital pedagogy, and organizing large-scale events. I have gained valuable leadership experience as Assistant Supervisor and Chief Supervisor during ISC 2019 and 2020, respectively and as an Examiner for I.S.C. – 2023 and Senior Secondary English Examination (C.B.S.E. – 2022). My achievement in C.E.N.T.A. Teacher’s Professional Olympiad 2020, where I ranked 3rd regionally and 10th in Subject-English, along with receiving the National Education Leadership Award in 2019, has reinforced my commitment to educational excellence. Whether through integrating emerging educational technologies, adapting lesson delivery to suit diverse learning styles, or fostering a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility among faculty, I am driven to ensure that all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Furthermore, my expertise in organizing large-scale events and my work as a Professional Anchor since 2013 have further sharpened my public speaking, organizational, and communication skills—competencies I am eager to leverage in this leadership role.
Education is the nurturing of inquisitive minds, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners. This deeply held conviction is central to my desire to assume the role of Vice Principal, where I envision fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative learning culture that focuses on the holistic development of each student. Although I am still early in my career, I consistently strive to cultivate a school community where every individual feels valued and supported. I am particularly proud of my involvement in founding the charity ‘Smile Please’, an initiative born from a shared vision with my students, focusing on providing educational resources and support to underprivileged children and communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, The Smile Please expanded its efforts, distributing food and clothing, further solidifying its mission to serve society. Through this project, I have witnessed first-hand the transformative power of education and community support in helping marginalized children.
As an emerging educator with a multifaceted academic background, extensive teaching experience, and a strong inclination toward educational leadership, I firmly believe that my ability to learn quickly, my understanding of both past and forthcoming educational trends, and my drive to foster a supportive and progressive academic environment conceivably makes me a suitable candidate for this role as a Vice Principal. I would be honoured to discuss how my qualifications, vision, and experience align with the goals of your institution. It would be a privilege to contribute to the advancement of the school’s legacy of excellence and to work collaboratively to shape the future of students.
Thank you for considering my application.
