RE: Application for the Post of HOD Music/ Performing Arts  Dear Sir/maam, As a young and motivated individual I am extremely interested in submitting an application for the post of HOD Music or Performing Arts with your School/college. In April 2014 I joined Convent of Jesus & Mary, Waverley, Mussoorie an all-Girls day cum Residential School as a Music Teacher and carry a rich work experience of 20 years in total as a Music Teacher in different Residential schools of India. While completing my studies in 2002 I worked part-time as a Music Teacher for Hillgrange School and Brightland School Dehradun as working with children has always been my passion. Later I joined Himalayan International School, Shimla, H.P. (a Day cum residential Co Educational School) as a Full time Music Teacher cum Dormitory Incharge. After working there for a year I wanted to shift near to my home town so I decided to join Mussoorie Public School a Co-Educational day cum residential school as a Full Time Music Teacher in March 2006. My responsibilities in this role included training the school choir & school jazz band. This position gave me key skills while also allowing me to experience working in a professional work environment in a school. In between I took a break for 2 years as I got an opportunity to join the Indian Army at Jatt Regimental Centre Bareilly UP as a Musician. I learnt the core discipline working at army and to read and write staff notations at the JRC however, as Music Education was my passion and working with children was always my priority so In 2014 I joined Convent of Jesus & Mary, Waverley, Mussoorie an all-Girls boarding school as a music teacher since then I have been serving the school and always been an asset to the school. With regard to my ability to meet the specific requirements of this job: • Music Teacher (Western as well as Indian Classical): A Bachelor in Arts with Total work experience of 20 years as a Music Teacher. • Guitarist: Worked for two years in the Indian Army Jazz band as a rhythm guitarist and learnt discipline and the basics of reading the staff notations there. • Pianist: Was associated with JW Marriott, Mussoorie for 5 years as a Pianist (Part time) which helped me improve my skills in piano. Presently associated with ITC Savoy, Mussoorie as a Pianist (Part-time) since 3 years. • Music Education: 4 years Senior Diploma in Vocal (Indian Classical Music) from Prayag Sangeet Samiti Prayagraj. Pursuing Post Graduate Diploma (6 years) Sangeet Prabhakar (Will be completed by September 2023) • Certificate in Music Piano initial with Distinction and Grade I theory from Trinity College, London • Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) from NIOS (National Institute of open Schooling) My teacher colleagues and employers have commended me for my high level of interpersonal skills and naturally engaging personality. My motivations include learning new things and the challenge of meeting key objectives.
