Shyamalendu Roy

As a ceaseless learner, I have spent more than 14 years with my students, who are from various curricula, (CBSE, ICSE, WB), diverse cultures and nationalities. I've had the privilege of collaborating with teachers globally, including Canford School, UK, and GAP teachers from Germany. I led Capacity Building Programs in Mathematics, impacting approximately 300 CBSE board teachers from Bihar and Jharkhand on behalf of the Centre of Excellence, CBSE, Patna region. Taking the EW-CENTA Mathematics test for three years, I achieved scores of 25 (2023), 24 (2022), and 26 (2021). Assisted numerous students in preparing for PRMO/IOQM and JEE exams through classroom coaching and as the head of the Hardy-Ramanujan math club, where I organized multiple MathMania events. As a residential teacher, I supervised evening preps and acted in loco parentis for my tutees. I’ve authored and edited math textbooks for national publishers and am a lifelong member of A. M. T. I. I believe that mathematics is best learned through diverse ideas, various models, and mathematical games. To promote this approach, I founded the blog MATH1089 to share insights and ideas with educators and students. As a teacher-member of IAYP, I have participated in cross-country expeditions, volunteered in blood donation and adult education camps, and assisted teachers at Disha Janakalyan Kendra, an organization dedicated to the education and well-being of children of sex workers. As a teacher representative of the school, I have had the opportunity to join various Round Square Online Conferences multiple times.
