Skalvi International School, Bengaluru, is inviting applications for a passionate, qualified, and dedicated Primary English Language Teacher (PRT). We are looking for an educator who can build strong language foundations, nurture confident communicators, and foster a love for reading and creative expression among primary students.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

📖 Academic Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned English language lessons for primary classes.
  • Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and teaching resources.
  • Teach grammar, phonics, vocabulary, reading, writing, comprehension, and spoken English.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Foster creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication through interactive classroom activities.
  • Encourage reading habits and language enrichment through storytelling, discussions, and creative writing.

📝 Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design and conduct formative and summative assessments.
  • Evaluate classwork, assignments, projects, and examinations accurately and within timelines.
  • Maintain student assessment records and progress reports.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support continuous learning and development.
  • Identify students requiring additional support and implement appropriate intervention strategies.

👩‍🏫 Classroom Management

  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Establish clear classroom routines and behavioural expectations.
  • Encourage active participation, collaboration, curiosity, and respectful behaviour.
  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and holistic development of every student.

🌱 Student Development

  • Develop students' confidence in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Promote independent learning and cultivate a lifelong love for reading.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and moral development.
  • Mentor students and provide individual academic guidance when required.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Communication

  • Communicate student progress during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and scheduled interactions.
  • Share academic updates, achievements, and recommendations professionally.
  • Address parent concerns in coordination with the Academic Coordinator and school leadership.

🤝 Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, training sessions, and professional development programmes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary learning activities.
  • Participate actively in school events, assemblies, competitions, and co-curricular programmes.
  • Stay updated with emerging teaching methodologies and educational technologies.

📂 Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain attendance records, lesson plans, assessment data, and student portfolios.
  • Complete reports and documentation within prescribed timelines.
  • Follow all school policies, academic procedures, and institutional guidelines.
  • Perform examination duties and other responsibilities assigned by the school administration.

✅ Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in English or a related field.
  • B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. (as applicable).
  • Relevant experience teaching Primary English in a reputed school.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency in classroom technology and digital teaching tools.
