Key Responsibilities
Dance Training:
Teach
Kathak dance to students across middle and senior school levels, focusing on technique, rhythm, expressions (abhinaya), and traditional compositions.
Performance Preparation:
Train students for
school cultural programs, annual functions, competitions, and inter-school cultural events.
Choreography:
Design and choreograph
Kathak performances and fusion dance presentations for school events and stage productions.
Cultural Development:
Promote appreciation of
Indian classical dance, music, and cultural traditions among students.
Practice & Discipline:
Conduct regular
practice sessions, rehearsals, and skill-building workshops to improve students’ technique and stage confidence.
Event Coordination:
Assist in organizing
cultural activities, dance festivals, and talent showcases within the school.
Student Development:
Encourage creativity, teamwork, and self-expression while maintaining discipline and dedication in dance training.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Diploma / Degree in
Kathak or Classical Dance from a recognized institution.
Certification:
Formal training or certification from
recognized dance academies or universities is preferred.
Experience:
1–3 years of experience teaching
Kathak dance in schools, cultural institutions, or dance academies.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Kathak techniques, taal, and classical compositions
- Ability to choreograph and train students for stage performances
- Excellent communication and student engagement skills
Additional Skills:
Experience in
stage coordination, costume planning, and cultural event management will be an added advantage.
