Job Title: Headmistress / Head Teacher (Primary Wing)

Job Overview

A Headmistress or Head Teacher holds a pivotal leadership position responsible for the overall management, academic direction, and daily operations of a school, within the primary wing. She is tasked with fostering a nurturing, safe, and productive learning environment while managing staff, curriculum implementation, and student welfare.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Planning and Leadership

  • Develop and implement the curriculum
  • Set academic goals
  • Monitor student progress
  • Ensure adherence to educational standards of CBSE

2. Operational Management

  • Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling
  • Observe classes and performance of teachers and students
  • Monitor safety protocols and resource allocation

3. Staff Management and Performance Management

  • Recruit, mentor and evaluate teaching and administrative staff
  • Lead professional development sessions and teacher trainings

4. Student Welfare & Discipline

  • Promote a positive school culture
  • Handle disciplinary matters
  • Ensure student safety

5. Parent & Community Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison with parents
  • Manage concerns
  • Conduct meetings to update them on school activities

Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Montessori teaching certification
  • Minimum 5+ years of teaching experience, with 2+ years in academic leadership
  • Proven ability to lead a team, think strategically and drive school improvement
