About the Role

 

Indian Public School is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate PGT History Teacher who can inspire students to understand historical perspectives and develop critical thinking skills. The role requires delivering high-quality academic instruction for senior secondary classes while ensuring strong performance in CBSE Board examinations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Academic Teaching:
    Teach History to students of Classes 9 to 12 in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.

  • Board Excellence:
    Prepare students for CBSE Board examinations (Class 10 & 12) through structured lesson planning, regular assessments, and effective revision strategies to achieve excellent academic results.

  • Curriculum Planning:
    Develop lesson plans, assignments, projects, and study materials that encourage analytical thinking and deeper understanding of historical events and concepts.

  • Student Engagement:
    Use interactive teaching methods, discussions, and presentations to make history engaging and relatable for students.

  • Assessment & Evaluation:
    Conduct tests, assignments, and periodic evaluations to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

  • Academic Development:
    Encourage participation in debates, history-related projects, exhibitions, and research activities to enhance learning beyond textbooks.

  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with school leadership and fellow teachers to maintain academic standards and contribute to the overall development of students.

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education:
Master’s Degree in History with B.Ed. is mandatory.

Experience:
1–3 years of teaching experience in Senior Secondary classes in a CBSE-affiliated school.

 

Skills:

 

  • Strong subject knowledge in Ancient, Medieval, and Modern Indian & World History
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to simplify complex historical concepts for students

 

 

Tech-Savvy:

Comfortable using digital teaching tools, smart boards, and online academic reporting systems.
