Job description

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and passionate PGT English Teacher who believes in a revolutionary and student-centric approach to teaching English language and literature. The ideal candidate should be capable of transforming classrooms into interactive learning spaces that inspire communication, creativity, critical thinking, and confidence among Senior Secondary students.

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in CBSE-affiliated schools
  • Strong command over English Language and Literature for Classes XI & XII
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Experience in preparing students for CBSE Board examinations and competitive assessments
  • Ability to use innovative, activity-based, and experiential teaching methodologies
  • Proficiency in integrating technology, presentations, storytelling, theatre, debates, and public speaking into classroom teaching
  • Relevant Postgraduate degree in English with B.Ed. qualification
  • Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Language and Literature as per CBSE curriculum guidelines
  • Design engaging lesson plans using modern and interactive teaching strategies
  • Encourage reading habits, creative writing, communication skills, and critical analysis among students
  • Conduct activities such as debates, theatre, presentations, group discussions, and literary events
  • Prepare students for board examinations through concept clarity and structured practice
  • Maintain academic records, assessments, and student progress reports
  • Foster confidence, creativity, and independent thinking in students
  • Participate actively in school academic programs, training sessions, and cultural activities

Shikshayatan, the first QuadSeek school, was founded on August 15th 1994, and was a result of the Raghavans moving from Mumbai with their 6 year old daughter, to a small village called Arasavanankadu (AVK), Thiruvarur district, Tamil Nadu, in 1983. To date, the village doesn’t have electricity for around 8-10 hours a day. When the Raghavans arrived here, neither did they know Tamil nor did they know anyone in the village. Here, they started an experimental 100% free school with their savings, for the extremely poor in that area, and have been running it since last 28 years. Today, the school has extremely good facilities, including 60 computers for 200 children, science labs, a vast library, playgrounds etc. As a result, the school’s most underprivileged students speak fluent English, know everything about India, many countries and regions of the world, Science, are extremely proficient at Math, and incredibly articulate in History.
